Connecticut Car Crashes
Car accidents are common in Connecticut and across the United States. Every year, more than 6 million vehicle accidents are reported annually throughout the nation. These wrecks injure more than 3 million people and end the lives of roughly 40,000 annually. Sadly, most are preventable and caused by negligent drivers. Drivers who become distracted, intoxicated, exhausted, or who travel at unsafe speeds risk their own lives and the lives of everyone around them on the road.
In the past decade, driver negligence has become the main culprit behind the majority of auto accidents in the United States. The NHTSA reports that more than 94% of reported car wrecks can be attributed to negligent driving. Every day, more than 17,000 auto accidents happen per year here, while around 7,500 people sustain injuries and over 100 lose their lives.
