Westport, CT (July 30, 2026) – Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle wreck on the 1000 block of Post Road East in Westport on Tuesday, July 28. The collision occurred around noon, when a box truck struck a passenger car.
The impact snapped a utility pole and caused a nearby power outage.
Emergency units arrived shortly afterward and worked to free the box truck driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle. Crews safely removed the driver before assisting the other person involved.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Their names, ages, and the extent of their injuries have not been released.
Utility crews repaired the damaged pole and restored service while traffic lanes remained restricted around the wreckage.
