Connecticut Pedestrian Accidents
In the US, car crashes are one of the most common reasons people end up with serious injuries or worse. Each year, over 6 million auto accidents happen across the nation. These wrecks injure around 3 million individuals annually and take the lives of around 40,000 per year. Regrettably, over 94% of reported wrecks happen due to the actions of negligent drivers.
Driver negligence has become the main contributor to most auto accidents reported nationwide in the last ten years. Some of the most prevalent forms of driver negligence displayed on American roadways include:
- Distraction
- Intoxication
- Speeding
- Fatigue
Pedestrian-involved traffic accidents almost always cause pedestrians to sustain injuries. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that approximately 51% of pedestrian crashes are caused by negligent drivers. Sadly, pedestrians usually end up with injuries that are severe or even fatal.
