Milford, CT (July 14, 2026) – On Sunday night, July 12, a Stratford woman died after a detached tire from another vehicle crossed the median and struck her vehicle while she was traveling near I-95 South Exit 41, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash occurred when a tire separated from a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction and entered the path of another vehicle. The tire struck the windshield and roof of the vehicle, causing it to lose control and crash. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Catherine Palaia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
