Wallingford, CT (March 31, 2026) – Three people were injured on Monday, March 30, after a crash left a car on fire in Wallingford.
Emergency crews responded shortly before 2 a.m. to the 400 block of South Elm Street after receiving reports of a crash involving a vehicle on its side. When crews arrived, they found the car burning with three people trapped inside.
Witnesses said several residents used fire extinguishers and garden hoses while attempting to reach the occupants. An off-duty officer broke through the vehicle’s sunroof to pull the trapped individuals out moments before the fire spread further.
