Connecticut Pedestrian Crashes
Car accidents are one of the main reasons American citizens end up with serious or even fatal injuries. Every year, over 6 million car crashes happen across the country. Sadly, approximately 3 million individuals are injured in these collisions yearly while more than 40,000 end up losing their lives. Pedestrians are involved in approximately 18% of all traffic collisions in the US. Over 8,000 pedestrians lose their lives annually in the United States.
Unfortunately, over half of reported pedestrian crashes are caused by negligent driving. Drivers who engage in negligent behavior like intoxication, distraction, fatigue, and speeding cause millions of traffic collisions that end in injuries each year.
Pedestrians are some of the most at-risk travelers on the roadways in the United States. When they are involved in traffic accidents, they often sustain severe injuries that land them in the hospital where they must undergo medical care that is exhausting and expensive. The average cost of medical care related to serious car crash injuries ranges in the tens of thousands of dollars.
If you or a loved one has recently sustained injuries in a traffic accident, it is vital to be able to determine how the collision occurred. If you believe a negligent driver was at fault, a lawyer can help you to recover financially.
