Connecticut Auto Accidents
Auto accidents are one of the top causes of serious injuries and death among people in the United States. Yearly, more than 6 million auto accidents are reported throughout the nation. Sadly, around 3 million people are hurt in these accidents every year while over 40,000 individuals end up losing their lives. Unfortunately, the majority of auto accidents in the US and throughout the state of Connecticut are caused by driver negligence.
Negligent driving can be displayed in numerous ways, all of which are dangerous and can turn out to be deadly for crash victims. Some of the most common types of driver negligence in the US today include:
- Intoxication
- Distraction
- Fatigue
- Speeding
Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable travelers on the road at any time. Over 50% of the time, pedestrian collisions in the US are caused by negligence. Drivers who choose to look at their phones instead of the road in front of them, or who fail to yield to pedestrians, most often cause these accidents.
