New Canaan, CT (November 27, 2024) – An 85-year-old man lost his life in a 4-car crash on Tuesday, November 25 in New Canaan.
One other person suffered injuries, according to information provided by Connecticut State Police. The deceased victim was identified as Frank Brantner. The incident took place near Exit 37 on the Merritt Parkway at approximately 3:00 p.m. A 2015 Lexus 350 RC operated by Brantner was involved in a collision with a 2020 Kia Forte, police said. The Kia was operated by a 38-year-old man who was slowing in the right lane behind a Ford F-150 pickup truck just before the collision. The Kia then struck the truck and a GMC Sierra that was traveling in the left lane near the pickup, police said. When first responders arrived at the scene, Brantner was unresponsive and later pronounced deceased at Norwalk Hospital. The Kia’s driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
We want to offer our sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased victim. We hope for the full recovery of the injured victim.
Connecticut Car Accidents
Experiencing a car crash can completely upend your life, and unfortunately, many people are all too familiar with the devastating impact these incidents can have. In Connecticut, hundreds of lives are lost each year in crashes, and thousands more are left dealing with serious injuries, often including spinal cord injuries and broken bones.
If you or a beloved member of your family have been injured in a car crash due to another driver’s actions, you have legal options, such as filing a personal injury claim.
