Norwich, CT (March 5, 2025) – A person was sent to the hospital after a serious car crash in Norwich on Tuesday evening, March 4. The Yantic Fire Engine Company responded to Route 2 for a reported two-vehicle collision.
Reports show a vehicle caught fire, and both involved vehicles sustained significant damage. Police say a vehicle with a flat tire was parked in the right shoulder while the driver and passenger were outside the car. They were attempting to remove the flat when their vehicle was rear-ended. One of the pedestrians was also struck by the vehicle, police said.
The person who was struck was taken to an area hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The other individual sustained minor injuries and the driver of the other vehicle was not hurt. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire at the scene. Police in Norwich continue to investigate.
