Stratford, CT (May 12, 2026) – Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash on Sunday, May 10, in Stratford. The accident happened around 4:45 a.m. on Route 15 southbound near Exit 36.
Authorities reported that a 2014 Lexus ES350 rear-ended a 2008 Honda Civic, which then struck a 2012 Chrysler 200 ahead of it. A fire broke out after the collision.
Emergency units responded after receiving reports of the crash. The driver and two passengers in the Honda Civic were pronounced dead at the scene. Two victims were identified as Maria E. Vasquez Chacon, 29, of Trenton, New Jersey, and Joselyn Vasquez-Chacon, 21. Officials identified the third victim only as a woman and have not released her name.
The Lexus driver fled the scene before authorities arrived and remains unidentified. Authorities continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run.
