Willington, CT (November 20, 2024) – A woman lost her life after a traffic accident involving a UPS truck on an interstate in Willington. The wreck occurred on Wednesday evening, November 20, at approximately 3:15 p.m. near Exit 71 on Interstate 84. A vehicle was trying to change lanes when it struck a UPS truck, causing it to spin out. A passenger inside that vehicle was transported to the hospital by helicopter and was later pronounced deceased, police said. The victim was identified as Gennessee Alicea, 39, of Southbridge, Massachusetts. Interstate 84 was closed for some time after the accident while responders worked at the scene. Police in Willington are currently investigating the details of the crash.
