Fairfield, CT (January 15, 2025) – A woman from New York lost her life in a traffic accident in Fairfield on Monday night, January 13. Three teenagers were also injured in the accident that took place at approximately 9:28 p.m. on Ball Pond Road. Diane Staab, 62, of Mahopac, New York, was operating a Jeep Compass headed south on Ball Pond Road when she was involved in a head-on crash with another vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The other vehicle involved, a Hyundai Palisade, was driven by a 17-year-old resident of New Fairfield. The teenage driver was headed north on Ball Pond Road with two teenage boys. All three were taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police in Fairfield continue to investigate the details of the accident.
