Rocky Hill, CT (October 7, 2024) – A woman from Bloomfield lost her life after sustaining injuries in a multi-vehicle accident in Rocky Hill. State Police say the wreck happened on Friday, October 4 on Interstate 91. Information from the Rocky Hill Fire Department shows that three vehicles rolled over near exit 23 due to the collision. One vehicle veered into another lane, striking another car and causing both to roll over.
The driver of the vehicle that was hit was identified as Bloomfield resident Jada Upshaw, 27. She lost her life due to the extent of her injuries, according to reports from authorities. A third vehicle was also struck after the first two veered onto the highway. Five people in total suffered injuries, and four of them were treated at the scene. Sources say the incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday. One driver is being charged with DUI in connection with the crash. Local police are presently investigating the incident.
