Shelton, CT (January 13, 2025) – A teen lost their life and several other people suffered injuries in a three-car collision on Route 8. Reports show the wreck occurred on Sunday morning, January 12, at approximately 12:30 a.m. State Police report that a 38-year-old Shelton man was operating a Honda CR-V in the northbound lanes of Route 8 near Exit 7 when he crashed with a Honda Civic operated by a man from Waterbury, age 37. Following the crash, the Civic lost control, crossed the center median, and entered the southbound travel lanes. A Stamforrd man, 22, was operating a Honda Accord in the right lane on the southbound side of the highway and struck the passenger side of the Civic as it entered the roadway.
A passenger in the Honda Civic, later identified as a 14-year-old girl from Waterbury, lost her life due to the extent of her injuries. The driver of the Civic was taken to St Vincent with serious injuries. The Honda Accord reportedly attempted to evade the crash scene but was found a short time later. Police in Shelton continue to investigate the details of the accident.
