Waterbury, CT (December 30, 2024) – Police in Waterbury say one individual lost their life in a traffic accident on Sunday morning, December 29. At approximately 3:15 a.m., police and paramedics were dispatched to the accident scene on Baldwin Street. According to preliminary reports, three vehicles collided under circumstances still being investigated. One of the involved vehicles, a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, fled the scene before police arrived. A woman identified as Andrea Sherman, 46, was a passenger inside one of the involved vehicles. She lost her life at the crash scene, according to reports. Two other involved individuals, both aged 22, suffered serious injuries in the accident. They were both taken to area hospitals by ambulance. Additionally, the A&W Grocery Store was struck during the crash, causing minor damage. Police in Waterbury continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
