Connecticut Car Accidents
In a split second, a car accident can turn your world upside down—causing painful injuries, emotional trauma, and financial hardship. Whether it’s a high-speed crash on I-95 or a collision on a quiet street in New Haven, East Hartford, or elsewhere across Connecticut, the aftermath can be overwhelming.
Injuries from vehicle collisions vary widely. While some victims walk away with minor scrapes, others suffer far more serious harm—such as fractured bones, spinal cord injuries, or concussions that may take months or even years to recover from. The ripple effects often include time off work, mounting medical bills, and lasting emotional strain.
Fortunately, Connecticut law provides a pathway for victims to seek compensation when another driver’s negligence plays a role in the crash. If you’re hurt in a car accident that wasn’t your fault, you may be entitled to recover damages for:
- Emergency medical care and future treatment
- Lost wages and reduced earning capacity
- Emotional distress and pain and suffering
- Damage to your vehicle and other property
Connecticut uses a modified comparative negligence rule. That means you can still recover compensation if you were partially at fault, as long as your share of the blame doesn’t exceed 50%.
