Connecticut Car Accidents
Auto collisions are a serious problem in the US, happening over 17,000 times per day. Countless people are negatively impacted by these incidents, with over 7,000 sustaining injuries daily. The severity and frequency of these wrecks highlight the substantial need for continuous prevention efforts. Sadly, more than 100 people lose their lives per day in traffic accidents.
In 2021 alone, over 39,508 fatal wrecks happened, resulting in more than 42,000 fatalities. While crashes can happen for many reasons, the top three causes are:
- Distraction: According to AAA, approximately 35% of accidents happen due to driver distraction.
- Drunk Driving: NHTSA reports intoxicated driving is behind approximately 32% of fatalities related to auto accidents.
- Speeding: Speeding remains one of the deadliest factors in car crashes, reducing reaction times and increasing both the likelihood and severity of accidents.
