Connecticut Car Accidents

Being hurt in an auto accident can be a devastating experience. Regrettably, millions of people are injured in auto accidents in the United States every year. On average, about 3 million individuals suffer injuries in traffic collisions per year here. Sadly, around 40,000 lose their lives annually. In Connecticut, hundreds of people die yearly due to auto accidents, and thousands more are left with severe injuries. Some of the most common injuries that result from car crashes in the US include broken bones, spinal cord injuries, and brain injuries.

Unfortunately, the majority of car wrecks reported in the US are caused by driver negligence. On average, over 90% of auto collisions happen due to drivers who are distracted, fatigued, intoxicated, or speeding. In one recent year, over 400,000 car crashes happened across the country caused by the actions of distracted drivers.

If you or someone you love were recently hurt in a traffic accident, you may be wondering where you can turn for help. Especially if you think your crash may have been caused by a negligent driver, you may be able to collect financial compensation for the losses and damages you face. In Connecticut, victims can seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages under the laws of comparative negligence. As long as you’re less than 50% responsible for the crash, you can recover compensation for the damages caused by the defendant.

Collaborating with a skilled West Haven car accident lawyer is crucial to ensuring you have the evidence to prove that the defendant was mostly or entirely at fault for your crash, enabling you to receive fair compensation. Your attorney will conduct a thorough investigation into the accident and gather evidence on your behalf to strive for the best possible outcome for your case.
