Thomaston, CT (June 9, 2025) — A serious car accident on Route 8 in Thomaston early Saturday morning, June 7, caused significant injuries and led to a highway closure, according to Connecticut State Police.
Officials reported that troopers were dispatched around 3:15 a.m. to respond to a vehicle crash on the northbound lanes near Exit 40. As of 8:33 a.m., the highway remained closed at Exit 40 to allow for a thorough investigation. Drivers were advised to use alternate routes to avoid the area.
At least one person suffered injuries in the accident, according to reports. Paramedics worked to help injured victims at the scene and transport them to the hospital as necessary. State police also noted that their crash reconstruction team was on-site to assist with the ongoing investigation.
